Original Music Composition
Using LLM’s (ChatGPT) I worked with it to educate myself on musical notation/language. With no prior experience with written music, I worked with ChatGPT to compose an original score, iterating on my prompts to add depth to the music, as well as adding octaves, a specific bpm, and harmony.
Once I had a full melody/harmony, I used the platform onlinesequencer.net to produce an mp3 audio rendition of the music (using the electric keyboard for melody and grand piano for harmony).
Finally, I have used AI generative video tool wzrd.ai which allows you to select a visual art direction and 4 source images to then, augments your audio with immersive video powered by artificial intelligence.
This original score I’ve titled “JoyfulGPT”, inspired by the prompt for the music!
Initial Prompts:
“Is there a language or character that music notes can be transcribed in?”
“Are you capable of using any of these formats?”
“Please show me an example of a song in musical notation”
Prompt for score:
“Compose an original piece that conveys the emotion of joyful”
Other prompts:
“When i look at https://onlinesequencer.net/ it wants the input as C2 or C4 or some variation of the "C" key. How do i format your composition for this?”
“Can you please expand upon the original score and compose a full piece. In addition to the Joyful theme, it would have ups and downs in tone, capturing an adventurous feeling with a big build at the climax, ending with a soft hopeful tone.”
“Add harmony and rhythm to this composition”
“what would be ideal bpm be for your piece?”
“can you add octave to your harmony?”
8-Bit Gaming Tunes
I followed up with Chat GPT to compose a second original score, this time specifically intended to use for an 8-bit gaming tune, similar to a poppy Podcast opening.
I used the same ChatGPT chat history as JoyfulGPT, to produce this piece. This time, I did not need to elaborate on inclusion of musical nuances such as “octave”, “bpm” or “harmony”. ChatGPT just included it in the first iteration.
I used the same tools/approaches to bring this piece to life.
Prompt for score:
“Can you craft me an original score for a podcast opening, in 8-bit Square”
Follow up prompt:
“add a little more to the length”
